Two beautiful "found photos"

I first saw these photos on a blog called Celestial Charms.  When I asked permission to post them here the owner kindly said I could post any photo from her Flickr photostream!  Thank you so much, Maureen!

I'll start with the the two photos that I found at her blog post, Thoughts on Victorian Fashion.

First is a lovely photo of five little brothers from Canajoharie, New York. 

 

Next is one of the same five boys with their two sisters and their parents as well.   They look like a pretty well-to-do family, and with all those boys there must have been a fair bit of mischief going on.  And with the girls, even more.  I can say this as my family is almost exactly the same in make-up, though spread out in age more than this one.

Wow! It's amazing to see old pictures. I wonder in 100 years, what will happen to all these digital pictures we take with our SLRs :-)

Hi, I love your pics on here! My Grammy had some great old photos that my brother and sisters scanned into the pc. They are really great to look at and think about how she lived back then as a little girl in the early 1900's.

You posted a comment on my blog about not having your subscription transferred with my sight. Sorry, but I know so little about it that I don't know what to do for everyone else who may have that problem. But thanks for letting me know!

I'm following your blog and will be happy to see your photo collection grow :)

Thank you for visiting and commenting! We have few photos in my own family history, so the few we have mean a lot. I could ponder old photos for ages.

Mom2TwoWonderfulKids, I saw your comment for the first time now; I have set Blogger to notify me but for some reason they don't always. I am sorry. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting. I too wonder about digital photos. They are very convenient but not very robust! Worrying.

Long awaited additions....

I don't know anyone but myself who has long awaited any additions to this picture blog, but isn't it best to assume the positive? Here are some photos from various genealogy or other sites. These are just thumbnails to tempt you. Clicking on the photo or on the link I give should link you to the family's site, to the page where the photo is. This is for courtesy and possibly copyright reasons. The Jacob-Buys family. Clicking on the picture above will take you to the original site, where names are listed under the photo. Upon reading a little further, I came up with these interesting points about this Dutch family. There were 19 children; two were born after this photo. Their given names were actually much more "interesting" than the ones under the photo. They are very Latin sounding. There were 60 grandchildren, from 9 of the children in the photo.
