This family has 4 children plus one on the way. This is the last family photo taken (January 1919). In April 1919 the father was injured and killed by a train in Madison county NC, 1 month before the baby was born.

Jan 2008: Terri writes that Grover, the little boy on the left, is her grandfather. His children are Vista, Era, and Terry. She has other pictures, as well as a baby book of the only child of Gladys, the oldest daughter above, which includes his first hair cut sample. If I've calculated correctly, the oldest child was born when his mother was 16 yrs 9 mos, and the youngest when she was almost 43, making them more over 26 years apart in age.

This picture was sent to the LOGAN family in Saskatchewan. This could be a picture of the HOGG or LOGAN family, taken in Ontario during the late 1800s or early 1900s. Even if all the apparent couples (all those in the back plus the man seated right) are taken to include an in-law, there are eight children in the family.

I can't seem to find the direct link for this again, but got it from Ancient Faces.

Leiper, Eldridge, and Lund families

The Stephen Eldridge family were pioneers of Hat Creek, Wyoming. They survived the effects of the 'Johnson County Wars', without the death of any family member.This photo was taken in front of their homestead near Hat Creek, WY.

This is the family of Peter Petersen Dam Lund and his wife Alida Sophie Liddie/Lydia nee Wold in about 1905. They are with their first 6 children. Their 7th and last child was born in 1911. Pictured are left to right: standing back row Jens Jensen Lund, Thomas Jorgenson Lund (tall boy), and their daughters, Emma Josephine Lund and Dora Cecelia Lund. Seated in front left to right are: the father, Pete Lund; son Elmer James Lund; and the youngest son in curls, Frank Merril Lund; the mother , Alida nee Wold Lund. In the very front, sleeping on the floor, the careful observer will notice the family dog. The was taken in a studio, so getting that dog to be so cooperative must have been a challenge! The dates and histories of the individuals in the photo will appear with their individual portraits over time. This photo was taken at or near Meckling or Vermillion in South Dakota.

**Anonymous writes: These are my grandparents and most of their children. My father is the baby in his mother's arms.  This is a blended family. This is a 3rd marriage for each spouse. The Stoutenberg girls are Hannah's children from her first marriage. One child is missing for Hannah and one for D.C. from their 2nd marriages. The four youngest children are from this marriage. Hannah died later in the year and DC married for a 4th time. Addie Hale is a cousin to the Stoutenberg girls.

Inscription on back says, "Childen's Day at the Ad Club 3/25/14. Mr. & Mrs. Russell D. Carpenter, their family and ours. They now have seven children. Mr. Carpener is a Merchandise manager of our largest department store. The feather in Babe's hat got between me and the camera."

I think the huge feather the poor guy is trying to dodge is hilarious!

Possibly Ida Smith (b. abt 1862, Fayette Co., TN) and her husband and children. Her husband may be a Mr. Thompson (Tomsen?). The photo was probably made in the 1890's. The photographer's stamp says Chickasha, Indian Territory. The present day town of Chickasha, OK, is in Grady Co., southwest of Oklahoma City. The photograph was saved by Ida's first cousin, Maggie Hall Smith, also of Fayette County, TN.

William Joseph Tatu family, 1899, on front porch of residence in Buffalo. They are descendents of Francois Xavoir Tatu, who left Doubs, Franche-Comnte, France, in 1833 to emigrate to the US. Wm. J. Tatu, here depicted, is the third generation of that move. The photo was taken June 1890. Aloysia ("Alla") Tatu was 20 years old in the photo.
