Scary mustache, happy Christmas kids, stern parents.

Here are three more photos from the same source as the previous couple of posts.  As ever, click on any photo to see it full size. 

Perhaps someone who knows military uniforms can share what service the son top left is in.  The photos were copied in Wausau, Wisconsin, but the father's mustache looks a little out of place in wartime America, don't you think?


Five happy siblings at Christmas!  I'm happy to see the imperfections of real life...parts of a new game, it looks like Candy Land, on the floor.  Maybe that's also a new Christmas doll.
  
From happy and candid to posed and unapproachable.  At least, I think the father here looks a bit scary as a dad!  Thankfully the two younger girls break up the sternness with little smiles.  Oldest daughter has a beautiful dress.  I wonder whether she made it herself.

I'd say she made her dress. The seam in the skirt looks hand stitched.

Long awaited additions....

I don't know anyone but myself who has long awaited any additions to this picture blog, but isn't it best to assume the positive? Here are some photos from various genealogy or other sites. These are just thumbnails to tempt you. Clicking on the photo or on the link I give should link you to the family's site, to the page where the photo is. This is for courtesy and possibly copyright reasons. The Jacob-Buys family. Clicking on the picture above will take you to the original site, where names are listed under the photo. Upon reading a little further, I came up with these interesting points about this Dutch family. There were 19 children; two were born after this photo. Their given names were actually much more "interesting" than the ones under the photo. They are very Latin sounding. There were 60 grandchildren, from 9 of the children in the photo.
