Make sure you see the part where they get out of their "18-seater limousine" which would be a regular-sized car now, only it fits all 18 as no doubt they didn't have the seating regulations we have now. It looks like an optical illusion to see them all file out of it one by one!

Hi Joanne! I think it was a news item. Didn't they used to show them before movies in the theatre? It's written in like they used to do the old movies.

Are you referring to the solemn faces in old photos? Apparently that was usually because the first cameras had to have the shutter open for so long you had to have an expression you could keep still for a long time. Maybe they also thought that serious faces would look more dignified in their rare photos.
It's possible the youngest is still alive. She'd only be 81. That would so cool to find her and get an interview of what it was like growing up in a large family in those days. I even wonder if they had more children after that too.
Good point, I did a google for her birth name but she didn't show up. That would be very cool though.
